    Trick of Treat

Although I've lived in the US for most of the past 8 years, there are some things that I still haven't experienced... The latest one to be crossed off the list was making a jack lantern for Halloween. I bought some pumpkin carving tools on Tuesday night, but then realized that finding a pumpkin wasn't going to be so easy. Asking for a pumpkin in Safeway, star market etc., two days before Halloween resulted in the same outcome... A bit of laughter and a sentence that started with "You've got a snowballs chance in hell..."

It was all looking bad until Leigh Ann managed so source a couple pumpkins on Thursday morning! Phew. Later that night I scooped out the pumpkin guts, and we got down to the artistic business of making a jack lantern. Leigh Ann went for the more expected face design, whereas I decided to go with a more rectilinear option - the Autobot icon from Transformers.
