"It's a sport, but the bottom line is money. The bikes are lighter, but not that much so. Sure, the training has been refined but there's no substitute for doing the miles. - Ken Laidlaw - First Scottish cyclist to race the Tour de France."

    What's happening...

What's going on in the world today?

Horner is pissed at not being selected for the US Olympic team - Rightfully so. I can't believe this guy has never gotten to race the Olympics! McCartney is good, but when was the last time that you heard his name mentioned in race results? Horner would have been one of my first picks. Go USA Cycling!

The Olympics are in full swing... There just something about the Olympics that fires me up inside. Just looking at photos from the opening ceremony this morning made all the hair on my arms and neck stand up. Full on chills... I just wish that I had the genetic ability to be at a level high enough to make it to the games. Being asthmatic, I'd probably have died in Beijing anyway. London 2012?! I'll be 33yr old...hmm. What can I get good enough at within 4yrs!

Obama just landed in Honolulu 30 mins ago and it sounds like there are about 1200+ people that managed to get out of work to try and meet him. Ahh... Ya gotta love Hawaii and the Aloha Friday setup.

Lelong raced the Junior Nationals criterium on Thursday and got 60-something place. 6sec away from wearing the stars and stripes.

Tomorrow is going to be an early morning as my girlfriend and I will be flying over to Hilo at 520am! Who the hell decided on 520am??? I guess that would be me.

I might buy a mountain bike next week... Been jonesin' for one for a while and it might finally happen. A little re-shuffling of the bike stable is in order though. Hell, maybe I need to have ago at MTB Master Worlds. Wonder where they're being held...
