    Jeannie Longo

I spent today hanging out in downtown Hood River watching the various final stage criteriums of the Mt Hood Classic. David stuck with the 2/3's until the official pulled him off the course. Wasn't the first to get pulled, and definitely not the last. I've raced the same course before and it's definitely a tough one for a first attempt at a real criterium with more than 10 riders. He placed 40th on yesterday's stage in the 3's, and was 42nd on GC. Now sure he finished up after the crit, but he might have moved up a few clicks.

Later in the day I got to meet French cyclist Jeannie Longo-Ciprella. Her list of palmares includes a gold, two silvers and a bronze for cycling at the olympics, 5x UCI World Road Race Champ, 4x UCI World TT Champ, 3x UCI World Champ for various track racing disciplines... and the list goes on! Basically, she's the female equivalent of Eddy Merckx.

    Mike!

Right on man. She really is the female Merckx.

Anyways, I had a fun time chilling with you and David this past week. Let me know the next time you're coming over here again!

Nice effort this week; that was a stupid tough field to race against. Hope that dog doesn't give you guys a hard time sleeping on your last night! Have a safe flight home.
